“Let’s block everything”: September 10, the day France could “press stop”

Under the banner "Let's Block Everything," the call for a nationwide shutdown on September 10th has been circulating on social media all summer. Denouncing austere budgetary policies and degraded public services, the movement currently has neither a leader nor a political affiliation. But the frustration it expresses harks back to the early days of the Yellow Vests, according to the foreign press.
September 10th is associated with the start of the school year, when everything starts up again. This year, it could be the year when everything stops. “A mysterious online collective has called for a 'total and unlimited' blockade of France starting in September, in protest against Prime Minister François Bayrou's budgetary intentions,” including €44 billion in savings and the elimination of two public holidays, writes the English-language website The Local .
This collective, called “Mobilisation10septembre” and its hashtag “#BloquonsTout” aim to launch an “apolitical” protest movement calling for “ a general strike and a complete shutdown of the country” on September 10, “a day already marked in red on the calendar,” adds the Spanish daily El Mundo . “Seven years after the Yellow Vests, a new large-scale social movement could shake France,” states Le Temps . On social networks, we can read messages like the one cited by the Swiss daily:
“September 10th is the day the people of France press stop.”
“Beyond a simple call to strike, this mobilization advocates civil disobedience and a generalized boycott of businesses,” continues Le Temps, which cites the pacifist actions envisaged, such as the occupation
